Hi,
as i said in a earlier post, i brought a android phone, and some days ago looking for the app’s to install, i was looking for some MSN app. in my first search i found ebuddy, a service that i never used but i know that hey existed for years. so i installed the app, created a new account and link my hotmail credentials. all worked flawless so i continued doing my stuff. hours later, i starting to receive bounced emails from my contacts, send from my hotmail account, that was more than obvious that was spam. so then i changed my hotmail password and the spam emails stopped.
how i know that the fault was from ebuddy? i’m more than careful with my mails and important accounts, all of them have a different passwords that i change time to time, i do not use any web service, all open source app’s as AMSN in case of msn, and i only login on my computer or in this case phone, i never login on a public or strange computer for any reason. and BTW, my computer is running ubuntu, so virus are not a possibility
so, i don’t know if they sell your data to the spam people or have a big and important security breach, but avoid using ebuddy at all cost, from my side i reported the app and downloaded an app that directly connect to the msn service called “MSN Talk”.

Hi,
the game development indie/groups/companies appears and disappear every day, and in argentina are just a few in this business. just wanted to make a list and little review of the more relevant and still living projects, if you are looking for someone to make your game, or just want to contact them. also i know there are a lots of companies that make outsourcing, but i just wanted to list the small ones, to give them a little more of web presence.
if you have any suggestion for this list (add/change/delete any entry) just send me a email (david [AT] y-developments.info ) or make me a comment here.
be aware that the description (at least for the indies) are write in a funny way

) but he will be always a indie, making those flash and pixelated games. his last work was a entry for the last CODEAR, you can see it here. he also made a flixel map editor called flan, that you can see here

in FGL: ?http://www.flashgamelicense.com/sponsor_pages/adobe/? there are 30.000 USD in prizes, 150 winners.
in mochimedia: http://mochiland.com/articles/announcing-the-mochi-made-for-mobile-contest-with-adobe here are 15.000 USD in prizes, less winner tough
in kongregate: http://www.kongregate.com/pages/mobile-game-contest like 30.000 USD in prizes.
anyway, check the rules of the contest (the detail ones, the user agreement) why usually just for winning or entering a contest like this you are giving to the sponsor a non-exclusive sponsorship.

Hi,
today i wanted to write a opinion about this 2 mobile operating system, basically why appeared the new iphone 4 and i was excited to compared with what comes apple to compete with froyo.
Disclaimer: i never have an iphone or an android device even close, my opinions are based on technical spects, and videos, i mainly focus my opinion of this type of product from the point of view of the developer and the end user.
The people who know me, know that i’m always to the side of the open source and liberty, but when it comes to this i try to see the thing in a objective form.
The key of the new era: usability and features
this 2 news OS versions are bringing new really nice features in the mobility devices, as multitasking, video edition (in the case of iphone), photos, music and games. also, to integrate all this features in a small devices as a phone, is needed a new way the user should interact, why there is no a psychical keyboard or mouse. the multitouch technology have helped a lot in this matter but also the engineering to create easy to use commands to use anything (a program, a mobile device, a website etc..) is not something easy (i talk with experience in this matter)
iOS4 is winning over the general user and developer market
the demonstration that apple give i think have been a great defeat for android, and i’m not talking even for the available app’s, the new hardware or even the new especial features, i’m talking that apple is delivering a perfect product for all the markets, the simple user , the hardcore user, and a complete pack for the dev to deploy applications and get revenue from it.
as many developers i hate the apple policy, but need to be honest that the policy is make it possible to deliver a robust product, open a new market for developers and new features for users to enjoy.
android, same history as J2ME
i’m seeing that android is having the same future as j2ME. J2ME is a java api that was promoted to develop mobile application to all devices just building once. the problem with J2ME is that the manufacturers implemented the API as they want, so the portability was impossible and only big companies (as gameloft) could develop games or app’s and port it to the almost all the existent devices. happened the same with android, devices with 8 different types of versions on the market and depending from the manufacturer to upgrade to a new version.
android started ok, as an open source project, delivering features that the competitor wasn’t able to do etc.. (we already know that) and the good of this is as open source, at least i expected a explosion of android powered devices but it started too late, from the day android was announced, take like 1-2 years to start to see android devices in the market, most of them on the high end market.
also, android is not open as apple to the devs (ironic to say this right?). yes, apple don’t approve the app’s that they want. and don’t give any explanation, but at least anyone who pay’s the 100$ can publish and develop commercial app’s. for android, is only limited to countries that have google checkout supported (USA and UK).
The future is in non-fragmentation
of course that new features will give to the users new attraction but from my point of view, the way that android could be a stable and all-users platform is avoiding the fragmentation by the manufacturers. a good solution to make this will be the same as linux make, a repository. so, basically all the android devices can be upgraded to the most newest version and having available the features depending of the hardware where is installed. also a more open policy for developer will be a good thing to have more apps on the store.
anyway, i going to still buy a android device when i can, but of course, is a developer decision more than a normal user
surely it will not help you but is just my opinion

Shadow.

Hi,
has been like 6 months i’m dealing with the payflow pro platforms making integrations for this processor payment. basically, this it’s a processor like others, managed by paypal, it’s nor hard to do it, but sometimes you can get some errors that can make you crazy searching info about it, i think this tips can help you to make you work easier
1) have a problem? check the paypal forums
here it’s where i solved my 90% of my problems, and i didn’t even need to ask !. it’s a little hard to search and the forum it’s not “friendly” but they do the job
. Payflow Gateway Forums
2) if you don’t know anything about, first, read some guides
when i started lookin for this, i didn’t even know how this working (the most close thing i ever made was the IPN paypal integrations, what are very diferents from this
) and the guides help me a lot to know what i needed to get the job done. Payflow PDF Guides
3) look for the best solution for your platform
the payflow pro have several options for each platform. if you are using something web based (like php) you need to use the https interface and if you are using other platform, like .NET or java, check the SDK .if after all of this you still feel lost, check the examples to see what you are doing wrong
4) use https for all your data transactions
maybe it’s a little obvious, but you need to use https in all the pages that involves the process of vital integration, from the form where the user enter her credit card number to the script that call to the payflow service and make the transaction
5) commons errors and solutions
here i going to detail you the commons error that can return the payflow gateway when you make a transaction:
User Authentication Failed
this happen when you are sending the incorrect credentials to the payflow pro server, check that the username, password, vendor and partner are correct from your account.this can happen also if you are filtering by ip the call’s to the gateway, if it’s yes, go to the manager , log in, go to “service settings” and check if the ip of your server are in the list.
User Authentication Failed: Vital
this usually happen when something it’s wrong with you account, like it’s not active for live transactions (if you are trying to run a live transaction). i recommend that if your account it’s already active for live transactions, call to your bank or who provide you the account and let them know the error.
account rules broken
i don’t remember exactly the name of this error, sorry
but basically it’s a configuration error, again, log in into manager, and go to “account administration” -> “manage security” and there change the values of according of what you need to process, take note that the changes take effect in 1 hour.
transaction declined
it’s the more common error, and can have several reasons, some of them are:
*order amount more than 1000 dollars in test mode
*trying to process card’s not supported by the account (this need to check it with your bank)
*the credit card it’s invalid or you are passing in a incorrect way the parameters
*you are not sending a unique ID.
i hope all this tips help you and make you save some time
